PORT SETON HARBOUR

Port Seton Harbour stands as a picturesque haven on Scotland’s east coast, sitting at the heart of our community and, for generations, in the hearts of residents and visitors alike.

Built by the 11th Lord Seton around 1656, this historic harbour has weathered centuries of coastal storms and changing times, standing as a testament to Scottish maritime heritage.

From its early days as a vital trading port to its long-standing tradition as a fishing haven, the harbour has been the lifeblood of our coastal community.

Today, it continues to support a small but dedicated fishing fleet, while offering visitors a chance to experience an authentic working harbour.

Whether you’re:

Watching the boats return with their daily catch

Taking a peaceful stroll along the historic pier

Soaking in the dramatic coastal views

Port Seton Harbour offers a genuine slice of Scottish coastal life.

Tide Levels

At sea, tides are the rise and fall of the ocean’s surface, controlled by the gravitational pull of the moon and sun. This natural cycle creates two high tides and two low tides approximately every 24 hours and 50 minutes. During new and full moons, we experience stronger ‘spring tides’ with more extreme highs and lows. Local factors like coastline shape, ocean depth, and weather conditions can also influence how dramatic these tidal changes are in different areas.
